Day 32: Lazy Days

By 24 September 2015May 30th, 2023No Comments

We’ve been doing nothing but moving for the past month. It’s time to stay still. We both woke up early, different times zones and all, and left the house by 8:00 a.m. for breakfast. This may be the first time in our marriage we have, under no compulsion, purposefully left to get breakfast before 8:00 a.m.

“Who are you? What have you done to my wife?”

We ended up eating at the Trolley Cafe “A Place locals go to catch up on news and socialize” at least that’s what their placemats say. We got some good old breakfast comfort food, ate way to much and headed to a barber. If you didn’t notice from the snorkeling photos, I look like a hairy walrus. It’s time for that to change and why not experience a small town barber at the same time.

Adam was my barber a young guy with a wife and baby girl with a boy on the way. We talked about traveling and shot the breeze as he trimmed and sculpted my face #fromhaggardtohandsome. Bethany said I looked good when I was done so I’m going to call that a win. Thanks Adam!

Now to get a few groceries so we can go home. Price Chopper was the closest grocery in Spencer so we got a couple sandwiches, snacks and drinks and headed home.

I quickly fell asleep on a bed overlooking the lake and Bethany relaxed. When I woke up, we watched TV. Then we watched some more TV, and so it went until we went to sleep.

Though I’ve appreciated a month away from TV and hope to continue watching it less. It was really nice to do almost literally nothing for an entire day. Here’s hoping our final day will be more of the same.

Cheers,
B&B
